Publish ads and start making money with AdSense

Google Inc. unveiled its AdSense program in June 2004. The AdSense program works in a very simple yet ingenious manner to help webmasters and publishers earn additional revenue. AdSense works in this way, whenever you place a Google search box on your website; you become a part of the AdSense network. Google then places adverts that are specific and relevant to your site’s content on your site. These adverts are decided upon through instant auctions where Google pits relevant CPC (cost-per-click) and CPM (cost-per-thousand-impressions) adverts against each other; these adverts compete and the winner, who will generate maximum revenue for the particular page is placed onto your site.
The adverts will not distract visitors to the site from the content of the site because only those adverts that are related to your site’s content are displayed by AdSense on your site. Google carefully reviews the content of the site and studies the context before deciding upon an advert.

Serving properly targeted adverts is the concern of every web site owner, Google AdSense makes sure that the text and animated adverts it provides for your site are well matched to your site content. For example, a pet shop site will carry adverts for pet food and pet management. Adverts like these are good for business as they enhance the informative quality of your site and encourage sales.

AdSense has a distinct advantage that it brings Google’s entire directory of advertisers at the disposal of its clients. No matter what your business is, no matter how exclusive and selective or broad and generalized your content is, Google has the advertisers for it. Therefore you can be assured of having relevant adverts on your page. In addition to this, you are spared the maintenance of advertiser relationships that is a full time job in its own regard. Google takes care of the advertisers and lets you reap the benefits of its extensive database of advertisers that range from the corporate international companies and brands to local dealers and shops. Google also scrutinizes the change in the content of your site’s web pages and adapts the supply of adverts accordingly; different pages have adverts that are suited to their content, placed in the context implied.

The adverts provided by Google are also sensitive to geographical differences and thus, the international companies that advertise on your pages through AdSense easily switched to their local dealers without any special efforts. Google’s AdSense is focused on helping to maintain the standards of its business clients therefore AdSense provides safeguards such as filtering adverts so that they match the content of your site. You can decide to ban certain adverts from your site by stating the URL; thus competitive adverts are blocked from being posted on your site. Adverts containing adult content are blocked from entering your site and you are also given the option of deciding which advert is to be placed.

AdSense also gives you the option of choosing the appearance of the adverts placed on your site so that the adverts do not seem glaringly out of place and ruin the look of your site. There are more than 200 colors to choose from, you select the color of the box, frame and text so they blend in tastefully with the rest of the page.

AdSense also allows you to check the revenue generated from these adverts. If the adverts are not generating revenue then you pull them off however this has yet to happen, most of the clients of AdSense accept that the traffic and the revenue has increased ever since they became a part of the AdSense network. Applying for the AdSense is extremely easy; all you have to do is register online and place a Google search box on your page.
